ICON Corporate Finance expands its award winning team with top international deal maker, Baruk Pilo. Baruk joins the team as SVP of M&A at an exciting time of growth for ICON, as an increasing number of European technology businesses seek global acquirers.
Baruk was previously Head of Corporate M&A and Investments at Cisco Systems in Europe, where he led more than 20 transactions totalling over $300m. Prior to Cisco, Baruk was Manager in the EMEA Telecommunications group at Oracle where he was responsible for Network Manufacturers and Telcos and Oracle’s go-to-market strategies for new technologies such as Mobile Wireless.
He brings to the ICON team over 17 years of M&A advisory experience and a very strong track record of technology transactions, including cross-border exits of both European and Israeli companies to US acquirers. His transactions have been focused on: FinTech, Security, Mobile/Wireless, Cloud, Enterprise Software and SaaS, Storage and Communications Networks and include the exits of: Danish mobile IP billing company Digiquant to InTec for $73m, Danish connected CE company KISS to Cisco for $61m, Israeli security software company Riverhead Networks to Cisco for $39m, French application virtualisation company Meiosys to IBM, French Internet company Wengo to Vivendi. Baruk was also managing Cisco’s fund of fund investments in Index ventures, Viventures and Kiwi Ventures.

About Baruk Pilo
Baruk joins ICON from Vadis Ventures where he was Head of European Activity from 2007. Formally he was Venture Partner at Fidelity Growth Partners Europe where he oversaw investments in Europe and Israel.
As manager of Cisco’s European M&A operation from 2000 to 2006, Baruk oversaw the company’s corporate investments in companies such as Denmark-based Digiquant, Israeli-based Riverhead, UK-based Job Partners and French-based Meiosys. From 1998 to 2000, Baruk was Business Development Manager in Oracle’s Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Communications Industries Group, where he defined the company’s OEM strategy.
Prior to Oracle, he was Manager of the Information Technology and Communications group at Cap Gemini.
